Comeau Down - March 5, 2019

Blogging is hard! I'm not cut out for this content creation game.

Man of the Night: Henrik Lundqvist. The king watched the game from the NYR bench, but that didn't stop him from pulling out all the stops in the hair department.

Groovy Hockey-Dancing hybrid:

Player that the Stars should've taken over Riley Tufte in 2016: Libor Hajek!

Summarizing the Comeau Down events from this evenings game:

$1 - 1st period w/ 6:55 left, Comeau fell down behind the Rangers net.

Comeau Down Update March 2, 2019

Where this blog left off on Feb 17, $3.

Since then, Comeau went down with an injury and missed a few games. This break made things easy on me because blogging isn't a habit- and I can afford a few cups of coffee in the morning.

In recent games:

February 24 vs. #hcanes: $2 for two second period falls
February 25 vs. Chicago: shut out
February 26 vs. Vegas $3, including an all timer that I really need to dig up
February 28 vs. LA: $1 for a third period tumble

Total: 9 falls, good for $9.

March 2 vs. St. Louis

$1: 12:39 in the first period, Comeau falls into [GUY] and takes his first of two back to back penalties.

Updated Total: $10 for 10 falls.

February 7, 2019 - @ Nashville Predators

Hockej in under five words:

Hard to win when trailing.

Bad Twitter news:

#ComeauComeOn Moments:

1) Comeau tripped over a sprawling Ryan Ellis ~16:00 into the 2nd period,

2) A classic Comeau tumble occurred ~10:45 into the 3rd. He tried to stop up and keep the puck in the Preds' zone. It kind of worked?

That's $2 donated to charity for anyone keeping track at home.

Stars have an early puck drop game against the Coyotes on Saturday.

Comeau Come On

I've been catching myself saying "come on" a lot at my television lately while watching the Dallas Stars play hockey. It's not a rarity for the boys in green to give up a two goal lead, develop nothing on a powerplay or get blown out.

Throughout the 2018-19 season, one player has caught my attention more than the others due to his play without the puck- Blake Comeau.

Comeau, signed on July 1, 2018, is a veteran from Saskatchewan (Jim Nill likes his Western Canadian boys). He's not going to grab your attention with Mitch Marner-esque toe drags or with blazing fast speed. But he will catch your attention for the amount of times he falls down in the span of a game.

I will be donating $1 to charity for every tumble/fall/spill/trip/plunge Blake Comeau takes in hockey games from today, February 6, 2019), until the end of the 2018-19 season. Reassessing how lucrative the number of falls are in the summer, hopefully taking this up to the end of Comeau's tenure with the Dallas Stars (estimated spring 2021).

Unfortunately, I do not live in Dallas, so these proceeds will not be going to a local charity. But they will benefit Inn from the Cold, which is a charity in Calgary that provides shelter to homeless children and their families.

To track Comeau's falls, I will be updating this site on a game-by-game basis. I will try to screen capture each fall and tag include it in my game wrap-ups. Feel free to join in and donate to your charity of choice.

If someone can think of a better hashtag than #ComeauComeOn, maybe we can switch it up.
